My name is Merrill Crook, a qualified teacher with over 30 years experience working with children. Throughout the years I have worked in educational facilities for early learning years right through to high school. I have a knowledge of working with children from the beginning of their schooling, to their final years of education. I have always had an interest working with children with disabilities & special needs, working with challenging issues & behaviour. It is important to establish strong connections with my parents that I work with, as I believe you have to look at the whole picture & collaborate together to achieve your child’s goals.

Qualifications:

Graduate Diploma in Education (Learning Support) - QUT - This course trains teachers to work as effective consultants to administrators, teachers and parents so that students with special needs may become successful learners. Special Areas of Study - Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s Syndrome, & Dyslexia

Diploma of Teaching (Primary/Special Education) -BCAE - This course trains graduate teachers to work effectively with student’s with special needs, such as gifted & talented, learning difficulties, and learning disabilities including hearing impairment, physical impairment, visual impairment and intellectual impairment. Special Areas of Study - Intellectual Impairment
